Jubilant Bhartia Foundation Medical Centre & Mobile Dispensary Services
The community healthcare initiative run by the Jubilant Bhartia Foundation (JBF) provides public healthcare services in affordable, accessible and equitable manner in around 18 villages nearby our plant premises. Since its inception, our services have helped strengthen the basic healthcare facilities and empower the local population. The local residents who visit the Medical Centre and Mobile Dispensary get proper medical evaluation, medicines along with the day-care services as well as guidance and education on how to integrate healthier habits in their everyday lives. In April, the JBF Medical Centre and Mobile Dispensary Services diagnosed and delivered medicine to a total of 1637 patients.
Women's Wellness Workshop
JBF Bharuch organised a Women's Wellness Workshop tailored for female contract workers. This initiative aimed to provide essential knowledge on menstrual hygiene, breast cancer, tuberculosis and awareness on heat stroke and precautions.
The workshop served as an open platform for female contract workers to engage in discussions about their health and well-being. The right guidance and suggestions came from the experts, which helped them in getting the right answers. The attendees shared their health experiences and discussed the health issues. They got the guidance and consultations from the health professionals.
With a turnout of 30 participants, the workshop facilitated each attendee in gaining valuable insights into maintaining their health and well-being.
EDUCATION
Muskaan Fellowship: Youth Development Programme Learning Retreat - II
The Muskaan Fellowship is a yearlong mentorship and training program tailored for rural adolescents with an aim to nurture leadership traits, guide participants towards a goal-oriented future and foster active citizenship. This training programe empower the individuals and they become the Master trainers who act as catalysts for bringing positive change in our society. These Master trainers implement comprehensive value education and 21st-century life skills programs in Government Primary Schools. They address critical topics like Gender Equality, Leadership and Goal-Oriented Mentoring. All of this helps the students to focus on results and pursue their dreams.
For the fiscal year 2023-2024, a diverse group of young individuals from various communities enrolled for the fellowship program. The second Learning Retreat for the Muskaan Fellowship 23-24 was conducted this month. The intensive training program promotes self-awareness, self-expression and self-confidence. Additionally, it emphasises on core values such as humility, love, gratitude, integrity, focus, safety and care.
Muskaan Fellowship: Value Education Sessions with Children
The summer season is in its full swing and school holiday have already begun. To make good use of the holidays, the 'Khushiyon Ki Pathshala' sessions helped the kids indulge in enjoyable activities like art and craft, drawing, plays etc. These sessions spark excitement and deepen the kids understanding of important values like equality, courage, honesty, hope, commitment, kindness, humility, integrity, focus, safety, and care. They also inculcate life learnings about trust, respect, love and gratitude, all of which help them into becoming better individuals.
Muskaan Kitaab Ghar
The Muskaan Kitaab Ghar initiative by the Jubilant Bhartia Foundation is dedicated towards nurturing reading skills, fostering learning through literature and molding young minds. This initiative has facilitated the establishment of micro classroom libraries in 131 Government Primary Schools across Bharuch, benefitting 22,842 students. Each Muskaan Kitaab Ghar houses a collection of more than 90 storybooks in both English and local dialects. Additionally, the schools have been provided a bookshelf to shelf the books.
This initiative has definitely ignited a passion for reading amongst children. Teachers actively engage in reading and storytelling sessions through the Muskaan Kitaab Ghar. Both teachers and students perceive this project as instrumental in improving learning outcomes, academic performance and skill development among students.
LIVELIHOOD
Farmers Empowerment Project
The Farmers Empowerment Project is a collaboration between JBF Bharuch and FarmBridge Foundation. It is dedicated to provide avenues of income generation. This project's primary objective includes educating rural farmers with diverse farming techniques, offering livelihood support and fostering innovative agricultural practices.
The program is live across 10 villages namely Vilayat, Derol, Bhersam, Dayadara, Vahalu, Argama, Saladara, Rahad, Vahiyal, and Suthrel.
This month's Farmers Empowerment Project meetings featured an enlightening educational session focused on Compost Fertilizer. The farmers actively engaged in field demonstrations, learning the art of transforming cow dung into rich compost fertilizer. Additionally, a field supervision visit was organised to observe the progress of sesame crops across various villages. Through these initiatives, we continue to empower our farming communities with valuable knowledge and practical skills.
Project Nayee Disha
JBF, in collaboration with the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), a Government of Gujarat organisation, has been running two Skill Upgradation Centres (SUC) at Bharuch and Vilayat since 2019, providing skill-based training to local community members with the intention of increasing employability in the community.
At the Skill Upgradation Centres in Vilayat and Bharuch under the JBF, a diverse range of skill training courses is offered. These courses cover various skill sets such as Sewing Machine Operator (SMO), Beautician, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA), Electrician, Mehndi and Basic Computer-Tally. These courses are carefully designed to facilitate sustainable livelihood generation for individuals within the community.

LIVELIHOOD
Inauguration of Didi Ki Dukaan in Sisoli, Gajraula
Jubilant Bhartia Foundation (JBF) Gajraula has started a project titled ‘Didi Ki Dukaan’ in partnership with B-Able organisation. The objective of the project is to intervene through economic and social assistance for women in rural areas to start their own business and become micro entrepreneurs.
The inauguration program was organised in Sisoli village for one of the Didi Ki Dukan store by a woman entrepreneur from the village named Dolly.
Mr. Vivek Prakash, VP & CSR Head and members of JBF team - Vikash Kumar (Manager) and Jaya Eti Minz (Assistant Manager) along with the B-able Foundation team were present during the inauguration ceremony.
The energy and the willingness to learn was visible in the eyes of our ‘Didi’. The discussions also happened on how to include variety of local products within the supply chain.

Jubilant Bhartia Foundation Medical Centre and Health Interventions
Jubilant Bhartia Foundation Medical Centre (JBFMC), in Gajraula caters to primary healthcare needs of the communities by providing extensive diagnostic services at a minimal cost of 10/- rupees per patient. The JBFMC also provide referral services to specialised OPDs such as Oncology, Orthopaedic by collaborating with Ujala Cygnus and Jagannath Charitable Trust.
It also operates a mobile dispensary unit, which reaches to the remote areas of Amroha with its primary healthcare services and subsidised medicines.
JBFMC Gajraula, also runs a primary healthcare clinic at Basaili in collaboration with ‘Sewa at Home’.
The Project Vitor: Under the village health profiling a ground task force of village level entrepreneurs has been created who are trained in small diagnostic services such as measuring sugar levels in blood, measuring blood pressure etc. This task force then extends its services at minimal prices and ensure better accessibility of informed healthcare services at doorsteps.
The JBFMC has also inaugurated its new eye care centre in itspremises which is functional since December in its full capacity.
In the month of April 2024, JBFMC OPD catered to 1447 patients, Mobile Dispensary Unit to 1086 patients, Special OPD to 82 patients, Dental OPD 63 patients, Eye Care Center to 101 patients, Vitor Village Level Entrepreneurs to 235 patients.

Inauguration of EduLab in UPS Tigri, Gajraula
On 2nd May 2024 inauguration of Muskaan Edu Lab was done in UPS Tigri. It is a groundbreaking initiative spearheaded by the JBF. This project is a testimony of the commitment to enhance foundational and digital literacy, a critical need in today's rapidly evolving world. The Muskaan Edu Lab is operating with the goal of empowering students and thrive in the digital age.
Key stakeholders of the education system including teachers, parents and members of the community engaged in the fruitful discussions on how to collaborate and support this noble endeavour. The discussion was attended by Mr. Vinod Jha, Plant Head and Mr. Devender, IT Head from Jubilant Ingrevia. They shared various insights and their expertise will be valuable in driving the success of this initiative.
As we embark on this journey of providing quality education and digital literacy accessible to all, we can create a world where every individual has the opportunity to realise his or her full potential.

Edulab at Schools in Pune & Satara
JBF Edulab were recently setup at six schools in Pune and Satara districts. This lab will equip these schools with advances educational tools and resources.
This is a significant step towards upgrading the educational infrastructure in the district. By equipping schools with advanced technology, Edulab is empowering educators to create more engaging and effective learning environment for their students.

Jubilant Bhartia Foundation Health Mobile Dispensary
The JBF mobile dispensary reached out to a significant number of patients in April. Throughout the month, the mobile van provided helpful medical facilities to a total 348 patients, making positive impact on the community and their healthy well-being.

World Health Day
On World Health Day, a community-level awareness session was organised in Kodiyakhedi, Kapasan, Chittaurgarh. The session theme ‘My Health, My Right’ aimed at educating people about the significance of maintaining a healthy diet and the benefits of daily exercise. Additionally, participants were informed about the importance of skin health and healthy practices during summers. This topic was relevant as a significant number of villagers reportedly suffer from skin-related issues which is mainly due to poor hygiene practices.
The session turned out to be of a great success and helped in promoting healthy living practices within the community.

Jubilant Bhartia Foundation Mobile Dispensary Services
Mobile Health Dispensary is an initiative run by Jubilant Bhartia Foundation (JBF) which provides public healthcare services in affordable, accessible, and equitable manner in 15 villages around Savli manufacturing facility. Since its inception, our services have helped strengthen the basic healthcare facilities and empower the local populations. All underprivileged local residents who come to the mobile dispensary get proper medical evaluation along with medicines. In addition to this, they are also given guidance and education on how to integrate healthier habits into their everyday lives. Total 752 patients were diagnosed and medicated in this month.

Through their voluntary efforts, these Master Trainers implement comprehensive value education and twenty first century life skills programmes in Government Primary Schools. They address critical themes like Gender Empowerment, Leadership and Goal -Oriented Mentoring. Through these tailored programmes, the students are empowered with modern age thoughts and skills to pursue their dreams.
For the fiscal year 2023-2024, a diverse group of young individuals from various communities have completed their fellowship programme of engaging with school students and igniting moral behaviour. The 'Khushiyon Ki Pathshala' sessions sparks enthusiasm while promoting students' engagement and deepening their understanding of core values. Total 25 students have been conducting value sessions in their village schools. This initiative is not only directly affecting their personalities but these efforts would also reap benefits in next ten years when these students will grow up.

Farmers Empowerment Project: National Farmer's Day Celebration
The Farmers Empowerment Project is a collaborative effort between the JBF Savli and the Farm-Bridge Social Foundation. Its primary goal is to enhance income generation in agriculture through value addition. The project achieves this by focusing on:
- Educating Rural Farmers: The project educates farmers in diverse farming techniques, empowering them with knowledge and skills to improve the agricultural practices.
- Livelihood Support: By providing support and resources, the project aims to strengthen the livelihoods of rural farmers. This includes access to tools, seeds and other essentials.
- Fostering Innovative Agricultural Practices: The project encourages farmers to adopt innovative approaches to farming. This also involves sustainable practices, crop diversification and efficient resource utilisation.
The program operates across five villages - Juna Samlaya, Karachiya, Pasva, Pratapnagar, and Lasundra. During the recent Farmers Empowerment Project meeting, it was observed that farmers are now engaging in third - season farming which is a significant development considering they previously only did one or two cycles.
Furthermore, the project has completed one year since its inception, and the farmers expressed their gratitude and satisfaction with the initiative. Their positive feedback underscores the project’s impact on their lives.
Project Nayee Disha: Creating Sustainable Livelihood
JBF Savli offers skill-based training to local community members with the goal of enhancing employability. Their diverse range of courses includes stitching, beautician, toran making and soap making. These carefully designed programs aim to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for individuals within the community.
Specifically, under the beautician course, JBF trained and certified 30 women in the last fiscal year. Some of these women have established their own beauty parlours. Additionally, women were also trained in handbag stitching. They acquiring skills to create variety of bags to meet the ever-evolving fashion demands.
